10歳より東京にて和太鼓を始める。2001年、演劇学を勉強していた大学在学中からプロ活動をスタート。

 

日本舞踊・能楽・歌舞伎囃子などの研鑚を積みながら、

三兄弟和太鼓ユニット「は・や・と」、

津軽三味線日本チャンピオン・福居一大とのユニット「FKB」、

和太鼓・篠笛・歌ユニット「そらなり」、

東京スタイル和太鼓ユニット「ひむかし」などでの活動の他、

ソロとしても、アコーディオン・二胡・ギター・横笛など、和洋問わず様々なジャンルの音楽やパフォーマンスとのコラボレーションを全国各地において行っている。

 

明治大学、共立女子大学、千葉大学などでの講義活動、豪華客船メインショーへの出演、各団体への楽曲提供、TV、ラジオ出演などその活動は多岐に渡っている。

 

2013年には「太鼓“維”プロジェクト」を立ち上げ、「沖縄で太鼓を打とう!」ツアーを企画・プロデュースし、述べ80名以上の太鼓経験者を沖縄へ連れて行く。また、和太鼓を中心に様々な文化交流を行うイベント「“維”(つなぐ)文化祭」を沖縄県恩納村にて2年連続開催するなど、<和太鼓を通して人と人、文化と文化、地域と地域、そして心と心を“維”ぐ>活動を積極的に行っている。

 

全国のモデルケースとなっている茨城県小美玉市の学校アクティビティ事業に10年間関わる他、幼保園の和太鼓を使った教育プログラム作成・指導、小学館「小六教育技術」特集記事への執筆など、様々な教育事業にも関わっている。

 

和太鼓チーム「鼓人の羽(ことのは)」を主宰し、沖縄と東京にて和太鼓指導を行い、ドイツ、ミュールハイムにある「無限道場」にて和太鼓特別講師も務めている。

 

2016年より拠点を沖縄県に移し、「そらなり」として「護国寺開創650年記念行事」での演奏、ラジオ番組パーソナリティ、沖縄へプロの和楽器奏者を招聘しての公演ツアー主催など、さらに幅広い活動を行っている。

2018年には「HAYATO DRUM MASTERS」としてスペイン全12公演に及ぶツアーを成功させ、演者としてだけではなく、音楽監督としても好評を得る。

Ryota Kanazashi started playing taiko drums at the age of ten in Tokyo, and in 2001, when he was a university student studying theater, he began his professional career.

 

While studying "Nihon-buyo"(Japanese traditional dance), "No-gaku"(Japanese Classical Arts), and "Kabuki-bayashi"(Japanese traditional music) , He is active in groups such as "Ha-ya-to"(Three brothers Wadaiko group), "Soranari"(Wadaiko&Shinobue) and "Himukashi"(Tokyo-style Wadaiko group) and others.

As a soloist, he collaborates with various genres of music and performances in Japan and abroad, 

 

He has given lectures at several universities, performed in main shows on luxury cruise ships, provided music for various groups, and appeared on TV and radio.

 

In 2013, he launched the "Taiko 'Tsunagu' Project". He has planned and produced tours and taken more than 80 experienced taiko players to Okinawa, where he has held the "Tsunagu-Festival" in Onna Village, Okinawa Prefecture, for two consecutive years to promote cultural exchange through taiko. 

 

He has been involved in school activity projects for 10 years in Omitama City, Ibaraki Prefecture, which has become a model case study for the whole country, as well as creating and teaching educational programs using taiko drums at nursery schools and writing articles for Shogakukan's "School Educational Technology" special issue.

 

He runs a wadaiko team "Koto-no-ha", teaches wadaiko in Okinawa and Tokyo, and is a special wadaiko instructor at the Mugen Dojo in Mulheim, Germany.

 

Since 2016, he has moved his base to Okinawa Prefecture, where he performs as "Soranari" at many events,is a radio personality, and organizes performance tours to Okinawa with professional Japanese traditional performers.

In 2018, he successfully completed a 12-show tour in Spain as "Ha-ya-to Drum Masters", which was well received not only as a performer but also as a musical director.
